- The Department of FINE ARTS
The Department of Fine Arts has graduated talented students for over 25 years as a pivotal institution affiliated with a national university in Gwangju. Since its foundation in 1982, the Department has held international academic seminars and special lectures delivered by prominent artists, and published academic journals. In addition, it signed an academic exchange agreement with Yanbian University in China to promote exchanges of professors and students, and staged a joint exhibition in Gwangju and Yanbian. The majors of the Department of Fine Arts consist of Korean Painting, Western Painting, Carving and Modeling, Visual Communication Design, and Theory of Arts. The Department recruits students by major, and offers them systematic professional and practical training and theory instruction. It serves as a cradle for talented graduates in key sectors of art and culture, who play prominent roles as gallery and museum curators and designers. - Faculty
